Woodton Community Wood behind Suckling Place

The Parish Council is pleased to advise that to date we have been successful in securing grants totalling £39,000 towards Woodton Community Wood, £25,500 from Pocket Parks Plus Funding, £7,500 from the Awards for All – Big Lottery Fund, £1,000 from Tesco Bags of Help Scheme and £5,000 from Norfolk Community Foundation through Saracen’s Norfolk Fund.

A huge amount of work has now been completed on the Woodton Community Wood and many residents, and families in particular, are enjoying all that it offers. The area for children to observe wildlife and birds is proving a highlight and the children from Woodton Primary School are regular visitors.

Perhaps you might like to contribute something to this worthwhile community based project by sponsoring a bird or hedgehog box or possibly a little towards the purchase of an owl box? Alternatively a bag of bulbs to help naturalise the area is another idea?  If you can help in this way, please contact Ian Butler on 01508 482451.

Further detailed information about this exciting project can be found under the “Parish Council” link and “Woodton Community Wood“.

FW Properties are planning to submit a planning application for their scheme proposals by the end of this year. As per their written request Woodton Parish Council has agreed for representative(s) of FW Properties to attend the next Parish Council meeting to outline their proposals. This will be an agenda item.

Alongside the above proposals the Parish Council will also have an agenda item for an initial discussion on the possibility of linking the Woodton Playing Field/the School with Woodton Community Wood/Ravens Den through a proposed new footpath.

All members of the public are welcome to attend this and any future Parish Council meetings. The next Parish Council meeting will be held on Tuesday 5th November, 7.30pm at Woodton Village Hall.
