Woodton Community Litter Pick Event – Saturday 22nd April 2017
We had a great turn out of 20 volunteers for the Woodton Litter Pick on Saturday 22nd April and because of the increased interest this year, we were able to tackle some of the more outlining parts of the village. A total of 26 bags of miscellaneous rubbish was collected in the process – so a job well done.
A big thank you to all those who took part, and in particular Molly, Lily, Jack, William, Thomas and Isabelle who came along with their parents to help out.

Community Speedwatch – Additional Speed Activated Sign (SAM2)
Good News! As a result of a successful application to the Norfolk County Council Parish Partnership Scheme Woodton Parish Council has secured an additional Speed Activated Sign (SAM2). This sign was jointly funded by the Parish Partnership Scheme and Woodton Parish Council. The Speed Activated Sign will be a permanent fixture to Woodton and rung alongside the existing SAM2 that is currently shared with Hempnall and Langley with Hardley Parish Councils. This is a positive step for both the Speedwatch Team and the village. (August 2016)
Do you have a child and/or children between the ages of toddlers to 12 years old? If so why not take this exciting opportunity of becoming involved and taking an active and hands on part in the running of the Raven’s Den playground situated behind the Village Hall. The playground has an enclosed area for small children which offers;
- Climbing equipment
- Small football pitch
- Landscaped cycle track
- Picnic area (with tables)
- Play equipment for the older children, including a basketball hoop.
The Parish Council is seeking parishioners to become involved with Ravens Den. Why not give something back and become involved, seeing the rewards for your children with their hours of endless fun playing outside in a safe environment.
The role is not a big commitment and would comprise working alongside other volunteers and include litter picking and extra grass cutting as required (contract is already in place for regular grass cutting), overseeing the equipment to ensure it is safe and in good working order and reporting any concerns to the Parish Council.
Further information can be obtained from the Parish Council Chairman, Andrew Weatherley on 01508 483700 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Make a difference and be part of the running of such a worthwhile community asset.
The Committee would also welcome more members joining them to help run this great facility for Woodton, Bedingham and the surrounding villages. Please call either Tony on 01508 482313 or Jane on 01508 518007 for more details.
The team currently train at Woodton Playing Fields on Sunday mornings from 10.30am and have a core group of players who turn up regularly. Any new adult players are welcome to join us for training. Simply turn up on a Sunday.
We welcome contributions – this is your website! If you have a lovely photo of Woodton, or would like to share anything that could be of general interest in the village, please email it to the Parish Clerk!
